Bio

2023-2024 Season: J’Nyria Kelly had an impressive season, recording a total of 263 rebounds, setting a new record for her team. She scored 301 points, with her performance including 263 rebounds, 26 assists, 18 steals, and 22 blocks. As a result of her outstanding play, she was named to the First Team All-LCCAC and First Team All-Defensive Team. During the summer, Ms. Kelly was selected to participate in the NCAA College Basketball  Academy in Rock Hill, South Carolina, where she had the opportunity to showcase her talents in front of college coaches and learn valuable life skills.

2022-2023 Season: J’Nyria was redshirted during her freshman season at BRCC to recover from a knee injury she sustained in high school.

High School: J’Nyria attended St. John Interparochial School, where she played basketball under head coach Cindy Prouty. She served as a three-year captain of her Eagles’ team and earned the title of MVP during the 2019-2020, 2020-2021, and 2021-2022 seasons. Additionally, she was recognized as the Offensive Player of the Year during those same years. In 2020-2021, she made the Honorable Mention All-State team, and in 2022, she was named to the Second Team All-State. Throughout her high school career, she scored over 2,000 points as an Eagle.

Personal: J’Nyria hometown is Bayou Goula, LA. She is the daughter of Rodrick Kelly and Kimberly Wesley and has one brother, Jordan Kelly. At BRCC, she is majoring in General Science with aspirations of working in healthcare as a lab technician. Her favorite athlete is A’ja Wilson, her favorite movie is "Love and Basketball," and her favorite snack is chips. The individuals she admires most are her parents, due to all the hard work they put in raising her and her brother.
