Bio

High School: Kinsley "Kin" James attended Southern University Laboratory School, where she played basketball under Head Coach Quianna Chaney. Her team won the state championship twice, in 2024 and 2022, and was the state runner-up in 2023. Kin was named to the All-Star team in 2024, received the MVP award at the EBR Parish Tournament in 2023, and was recognized as the Advocate Player of the Week in November 2023. During her career at Southern Lab, she scored over 1,000 points. She was named Defensive MVP during her sophomore and junior years. In addition to basketball, she also ran track, contributing to her team's first-place finish in the state track and field championship in 2024 and earning second-team All-District honors that same year.

Personal: Kinsley's hometown is Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She is the daughter of Earnest Sr. and Natasha James and has one sister, Natyra, and two brothers, Ian (her twin) and Earnest James III. Kin is currently majoring in Psychology at BRCC, to become a mental health therapist for athletes. Her favorite athlete is Zia Cook, and she supports the New Orleans Pelicans and the Las Vegas Aces as her favorite pro teams. She enjoys Mexican food and loves ice cream as her favorite snack. Kin hopes to visit Japan one day.
