Bio

High School: Janiyah "Niyah" Madyun attended Fontainebleau High School and Belaire Magnet High School. She played basketball under Head Coaches Jimmy Taylor at Belaire and Elicia Ockmond at Fontainebleau. Niyah was named to the 6-4A  All-District team for the 2022-23 season and received the Most Outstanding Player award in the district for the 2021-22 season. She was named to the All-Star team in both 2021-22 and 2022-23. Additionally, Niyah participated in track during her high school years.

Personal: Janiyah’s hometown is Fort Cavazos, Texas. She is the daughter of Mustafa Madyun and Jauna Thomas. Niyah has five sisters: Emily Cook, Samiah Cook, Brione Clark, Aishiah Madyun, and Maleah Madyun. She also has four brothers: Virgil Smith, Ronald Warden III, Malikk Maydun, and Isaiah Madyun. At BRCC, she is majoring in Business. Niyah's favorite athlete is Seimone Augustus, and her favorite professional team is the Baltimore Ravens. Her favorite food is Rotel, and she enjoys Gushers as a snack. Niyah admires her grandparents for their unwavering loyalty to the family and their long-lasting relationship
