The Baton Rouge Lady Bears dominated the game from start to finish to earn the 77 to 32 conference victory this afternoon, in the Bonne Sante Wellness Center. The Lady Bears were dominate on the defensive end limiting the Southern Shreveport Lady Jags to 32 points, in the game. 

In the first quarter, the Lady Bears limited the Lady Jags to only 7 points.  The backcourt of Alanna Donaldson and Angel Bradford paced the Lady Bears on the offensive end of the floor. The pair scored 12 of the Lady Bears 24 first quarter points.  At the end of the first quarter, the Lady Bears led 24 to 7.

In the second quarter, the Lady Bears got a bit inconsistent on the offensive end of the floor but continue their dominance on the defensive end.  They limited the Lady Jags to single possessions and forced multiple turnovers leading to transition buckets.  At the half, the Lady Bears led the Lady Jags 38 to 11.

In the third quarter, the Lady Bears increased their lead over the Lady Jags to 35 points; 59-24.

In the fourth quarter, the Lady Bears would outscore the Lady Jags 18 to 8 to seal the 77 to 32 conference victory.

The Lady Bears were led in scoring by Alanna Donaldson with 16 points. Southern Shreveport Lady Jags were led in scoring by A. Howard with 8 points.

With the victory the Lady Bears improve to 10-6, 2-0 in conference play on the season.

Lady Bears Highlights:

Alanna Donaldson led all Lady Bears with 16 points, 7 rebounds, 9 assist and 5 steals

Angel Bradford added 10 points with 2 rebounds, 4 assist, and 4 steals

Verd Fontaine had a double double- 10 points and 11 rebounds

The Lady Bears will hit the road again to play the Delgado Lady Dolphins on Wednesday February 2, 2022 at 5:30 pm in New Orleans.
