Women's Basketball: Eunice, LA

LSUE Lady Bengals were just too much for the Baton Rouge Lady Bears to handle this afternoon in their regular season finale. The Lady Bengals  would defeat the Lady Bears 71 to 48.

A quick start by the Lady Bengals put the Lady Bears in a hole early.  The Lady Bengals would outscore the Lady Bears 25 to 9, in the first quarter.  The Lady Bears would not quit, and they would pull within 12 at the half; 35 to 23.  The Lady Bears would outscore the Lady Bengals 14 to 10 ,in the second quarter. In the third and fourth quarters, the Lady Bengals would continue their stingy defense and their offensive explosion as they would outscore the Lady Bears 36 to 25 in those two quarters. In the end, the LSUE Lady Bengals would defeat the Baton Rouge Lady Bears 71 to 48.

Tahjea Smith led the Lady Bengals with 16 points. Alanna Donaldson led the Lady Bears with 15 points.

With the victory the Lady Bengals improve to 16-3, 11-1 in conference play while Baton Rouge falls to 7-10,5-7 on the season.

Next up for the Lady Bears will be a region 23 play in game versus the Southern Shreveport Lady Jags at 6 pm in the Bonne Sante Wellness Center.
