It was a heavy weight fight tonight in the Bears Den as the LSUE Lady Bengals and the Baton Rouge Lady Bears squared off in a conference match up. Each team's head coach countered the other's moves until the fourth quarter when the LSUE Lady Bengals pulled away enroute to the 73 to 57 victory.

In the first quarter, both teams were kind of feeling each other out.  The game was tied at 8 with 5 minutes left in the quarter.  LSUE would close out the quarter on a 11 to 7 run to take a 19 to 15 lead after one.

In the second quarter, Baton Rouge turned up the defensive pressure. The Lady Bears would pull within two points, 24-22 with 6:45 left to play. Both teams struggled to handle the other teams' defensive pressure.  It was a low scoring quarter, as LSUE would score 12 points and Baton Rouge would score 7 points.  At the half, the Lady Bengals held a 31 to 22 lead.

The third quarter was more the same as both teams battled but LSUE could not pull away.  The Bears would pull within 5 points, 48-43 with .40 second in the half.  After the third quarter, LSUE led 50 to 43.

In the fourth quarter, LSUE turned up the pressure again which forced the young guards of the Lady Bears to make poor decisions with the basketball.  The Lady Bengals also used the 3 ball to build their largest led of the game at 15.  The Lady Bears had no answers as they would fall to the Lady Bengals 73 to 57, this afternoon in the Bears Den.
