A strong fourth quarter lifts the Lady Bears pass the Lady Dolphins tonight in a LCCAC rematch.  Baton Rouge Lady Bears defeat the Delgado Lady Dolphins by the final score of 65 to 55.

The Lady Bears came out very sluggish, in the first quarter, and the Lady Dolphins took advantage. The Lady Dolphins led 17 to 13, after the first quarter. The Lady Bears would open the second quarter on a 6-0 run to tie the game at 19. Both teams would trade buckets, as the second quarter would end in a 28 all tie.

The third quarter was more of the same as the quarter saw four ties and four lead changes. At the end of the third quarter, the Lady Bears held a slim one-point lead; 45 to 44. In the fourth quarter, the game would be tied at 51 when the Lady Bears would break the game open with a 14 to 4 run to take the 65 to 55 victory.  During the Lady Bears' run they increased their defensive pressure, controlled the boards and converted on inside the paint buckets.

The Lady Bears were led in scoring by sophomore forward Desrael Schnyder who had 13 points.

With the victory the Lady Bears improve to 7-14, 2-3 in conference play while Delgado falls to 5-14, 1-4 on the season.

Lady Bears Highlights:

Desrael Schnyder led all Lady Bears with 13 points

Britanae White added 10 points

The Lady Bears will hit the road this Saturday February 8 as they travel to Shreveport, La to take on the Southern Shreveport Lady Jags at 2 pm.
