Lady Bears lose 61 to 50 to Holmes Lady Bulldogs

The Baton Rouge Lady Bears fall 61-50 to the Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs on Thursday evening in the Bonne Sante Wellness Center.  The Lady Bulldogs improve to a record of 4 and 3 on the season, while the Lady Bears fall to 1 and 7. It was another slow start for the Lady Bears only scoring 14 points in the first quarter and 9 points in the second quarter.  Holmes led 17-14 after one quarter and 32-23 at halftime.  In the second half, the Lady Bears tried to change the momentum of the game but were just trading buckets with the Lady Bulldogs. The Lady Bulldogs outscored the Lady Bears 29-27 in the second half. BRCC forced Holmes into 16 turnovers, compared to only 13 for the Lady Bears, but were unable to turn those into points to change the momentum of the game.  The Lady Bears were out rebounded 30 to 25.

 

Lady Bears Highlights:

Celica Sterling led the Lady Bears with 17 points, with 8 points coming in the 4th quarter.  She also had 6 rebounds.

Tremeeka Spikes added 12 points on 6/9 shooting from the field.  She also had 8 rebounds and 1 charge.

Rosa Reynard added 12 points on 4 for 7 shooting from the field.

Harlee Doucet added 4 assist and Kayla Watson had 6 rebounds

 

Baton Rouge will close out the fall home schedule, with a game in the Bonne Sante Wellness Center on Saturday December 2, 2017 against Mississippi Delta at 2 pm.
