Lady Bears Fall to 3-3 in Conference Play with Loss to Southern-Shreveport

Baton Rouge headed north to square off against Southern-Shreveport for their second of three meetings this conference season. Unfortnately, for the Lady Bears, they fell to the Jaguars 66-37 leaving them in a uphill battle to sit atop the conference by the end of the month. 

What was five point game at halftime turned quickly in the second half. BRCC struggled to find points and lost by twenty-nine points for the second time this season when facing Southern-Shreveport. 

Bear Notes:

  • Albeit in a loss, Pearl Jones ended the night with another double-double, finishing with 13 points and 10 rebounds. 
  • BRCC committed 20 turnovers, while forcing 12 turnovers.
  • Lady Bears were outrebounded by a margin of 47-33, giving up 20 offensive rebounds to the Jaguars.

BRCC sits at 3-3 in conference play, one game beind Southern-Shreveport (4-2) and tied with LSU-Eunice. Having already defeated them twice this season, Saturday's matchup against LSU-Eunice is reaching must win territory, if the Lady Bears want to have a chance to catch Southern-Shreveport.
