Lady Bears fight back to start the season 2-0. After trailing the entire second half, Baton Rouge was able to force overtime by wreaking havoc with full court pressure. The Lady Bears controlled the game in extra time and won 82-77.

Bear Notes:

• Teams were tied at 12 to start the second quarter when Baton Rouge went cold. The Lady Bulldogs outscored the home team 27-15 to take a commanding halftime lead.
• Lady Bears bounced back from the FT line shooting 71% (24-34). 
• Baton Rouge cut their turnovers in half, only committing 15 in the game.

Stats & More:

• Amber Smith, sophomore guard, led the team in scoring with 25 points (eight in OT). 
• Transfer Shelby Dixon topped the twenty point mark by adding 21. 
• Pearl Jones nothced a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds (7 off).
• Doneisha Young reached double figures with ten points. 

Baton Rouge hits the road on Tuesday for the first of four straight road games. BRCC will travel to Southwest Mississippi Community College for a 6:00 pm start. 

Lady Bears are back home on November 12th when Northeast Mississippi Community College comes to Mid-City for a men's and women's doubleheader.
