Bears Softball Signing Day!

The Baton Rouge Community College Athletic Department held a signing ceremony for two softball student athletes that will continue their athletic and academic careers at four-year institutions, on April 17 after the Bears final home regular season game. Molly Sistrunk and Laine Sullivan signed scholarships to attend four year institutions. Molly and Laine join fourteen previous Lady Bears Softball student athletes that have continued their careers at four-year institutions.

Details About Today's Signees:

Molly Sistrunk, an infielder from Kaplan, Louisiana, signed to play at Louisiana State University in Alexandria. Molly signed to be a Bear out of Kaplan High school before the 2023 season. During her career, Molly had a .296 batting average with 236 AB, 70 Hits, 18 doubles, 3 triples, 10 homers, 63 RBIs. She played in 92 games for the Bears. Molly finished her career as the all-time leader in games played (92), games started (84), RBIs (63) and walks (38).

 

Laine Sullivan an outfielder from Prairieville, Louisiana, signed to continue her academic and athletic career at Centenary College of Louisiana. Laine signed to be a Bear out of The Dunham School before 2023 season. During her Bears career, Laine had a .199 batting average with 146 AB, 29 hits, 26 runs, 2 doubles, 2 triples, 7 RBIs and 13 stolen bases. She played in 66 games for the Bears.

 

Head Coach Mark Suire is immensely proud of these young ladies and is looking forward to watching their continued growth on the field, as well as their success, in this next chapter of their lives. These two young ladies helped the Bears program win 43 games and set numerous program records while wearing a BRCC uniform.
