Bio

2023-2024 Season: DJ played in 18 games for the Bears, starting in 10 of  them. He scored 89 points, with 72 rebounds, 62 assists,  29 steals, and 3 blocked shots. Midway through the season, he became the Bears' most consistent floor general, playing a key role in the team’s LCCAC regular season championship and their run in the Region XXIII tournament. DJ was named to the All-LCCAC Defensive Team.

High School: Dashaunte "DJ" attended Rayne High School,  where he played basketball under Head Coach Donovan Morris. He earned honors as a member of the First Team All-Defense and the First Team All-District for basketball. Additionally, he participated in track for the Wolves.

Personal: DJ is from Rayne, Louisiana. He is the son of Louis G. Bellard and Antoinetta Cormier. He has two sisters, Angel and Destinee, and four brothers, Jay, Dee, Kel, and Tony. His father, Louis, played collegiate football. At BRCC, DJ is majoring in Liberal Arts. His favorite athletes are Michael Jordan and Stephen Curry, while his favorite professional team is the Golden State Warriors. DJ loves seafood and enjoys gummy candy as his favorite snack. He admires his parents the most for all they have sacrificed for him and his siblings.
