The Baton Rouge Bears continue to fine tune their game, in preparation for conference play to begin later this month, with a match up against the Houston based Up-tempo Academy tonight, in the Bonne Sante Wellness Center. The Bears would dominate the game from start to finish to earn the 90 to 56 victory over Up-tempo Academy.

In the first half, the Bears came out on fire on the offensive end. During the first ten minutes of the half, the Bears would open a 10-point advantage over Up-tempo; 24-14.  During those ten minutes seven Bears scored.  Baton Rouge would also clamp down on the defensive end holding Up-tempo to only 30 first half points.  At the half, Baton Rouge led Up-tempo Academy 44 to 30.

The second half was like the first half for the Bears.  The Bears would share the ball on the offensive end and clamp down on the defensive end to limit Up-tempo to only 26 second half points.  Every Bear but one that played any kind of minutes, in the game, scored at least one bucket. Baton Rouge would finish the night with a 90 to 56 victory over Up-tempo Academy.

The Bears were led in scoring by sophomore guard JaQualon Lovette with 22 points. Up-tempo Academy was led in scoring by Devin Figueroa with a game high 24 points.

With the victory the Bears improve to 5-9 on the season.

Bears Highlights:

JaQualon Lovette led all Bears with 22 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals

Jayhlon Young added 16 points with 8 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal

Nomar Dijol scored 11 points with 4 rebounds

Jordan Randall added 10 points with 2 rebounds, 3 assist ad 1 steal.

 The Bears will be back in action tomorrow night, Friday January 21 at 6 pm versus the LA Huskies in the Bonne Sante Wellness Center
