Bears Basketball falls short versus Bossier Parish

Bears Basketball falls short versus Bossier Parish

Sunday November 21, 2021: Men's Basketball

Baton Rouge, La

Unlike the first meeting between these two teams a week ago, this game was a back-and-forth affair that came down to the wire. Bossier Parish Cavs would take the 73 to 69 victory, this afternoon in the Bears Den.

Bossier Parish Cavs and the Baton Rouge Bears would match buckets for buckets in the first half. Bossier Parish held a slim 38 to 34 lead at the break.

In the second half, both teams again matched each other's best shot. Both teams scored 35 points, in the second half. Baton Rouge had their chances late but missed opportunities on the offensive end and untimely missed free throws sealed the victory for Bossier Parish.

Bossier Parish Cavs were led in scoring by Derick Hamilton with 20 points. Jayhlon Young led the Bears with 13 points.

With the victory Bossier Parish improves to 3-3, while Baton Rouge falls to 1-7 on the season.

Jayhlon Young led the Bears with 13 points with 2 rebounds, 6 assist, and 3 steals

Kemar Benn added 11 points with 1 rebound

The Bears will be back in action this Tuesday November 23, at 7:30 pm as they face Region 23 opponent the Mississippi Gulf Coast Bulldogs in the Bonne Sante Wellness Center.
