Bears fall on the road to the Bossier Parish Cavs

Wednesday November 10, 2021: Men's Basketball

Bossier City, LA

Baton Rouge Bears traveled to Bossier City tonight to take on the Bossier Parish Cavaliers. Bossier Parish came out inspired, as before the game they honored former teammate Decari Markray, who passed away before the start of the season in a car accident. Bossier Parish would use that early momentum and a stingy defense to limit the Bears offensively and come out with the 87-58 victory tonight, in the Billy Montgomery Gymnasium.

Bossier Parish opened the game on a 7-0 run to take a commanding lead which they would not relinquish. Baton Rouge would get on the board with a jumper by Darian Pierce Jr with 16:25 left to go in the first half. The Bears would go on a mini 6-2 run to pull within one with 14:17 left in the half;9-8. The game went back and forth for the next six minutes. Bossier Parish Cavs would close out the first half on an 11-4 run to take a 37-26 lead into halftime. In the first half, the Cavs were more aggressive on the boards and forced the Bears into multiple turnovers leading to transition buckets.

In the second half, the Cavs came out hot on the offensive end while the Bears offense was still stagnate. Bossier Parish outscored Baton Rouge 50 to 32, in the second half, to take the 87 to 58 victory.

With the victory Bossier Parish improves to 2-1 on the season while Baton Rouge falls to 0-3.
