Baton Rouge defeats Southern Shreveport in conference matchups this afternoon in the Bonne Sante Wellness Center.

In the women's game, the Lady Bears trailed 38-36 at the half. A third quarter rally by the Lady Bears gave them a 61-50 lead heading into the fourth quarter. The Lady Bears  would survive a late fourth quarter surge by the Lady Jags to earn the 78-71 victory  over Southern Shreveport. Baton Rouge was led by Angel Bradford with 21 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 6 steals. With the victory the Lady Bears improve to 3-5; 1-2 in conference play.

In the men's game, the Bears  trailed 26-25 at the half to the Southern Shreveport Port City Jags. The Bears would outscore the Jags 39 to 24 in the second half guiding them to their first conference victory; 65-50. The Bears were led in scoring by Cameron Massey with 23 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals .With the victory the Bears improve to 3-4, 1-2 in conference play.

Baton Rouge will travel to Shreveport on Monday March 1 to take on Southern Shreveport. This is a makeup game from the weather issues the area faced last week.  The women will tip at 5 pm followed by the men at 7 pm at Booker T Washington High School
