The final game of day one in the Region XXIII baseball tournament had the Baton Rouge Bears squaring off against the Delgado Dolphins. It would be the 105 meeting all time between these two teams.  The game was an all-time classic in the series. It was like games in the pass with a good pitching duel, homeruns, great defensive, and a dramatic finish.  This time the Dolphins would come from behind to walk off with the 6 to 5 victory.

The Bears would get on the board first via a two-run homer by Lane Hutchinson to left field, in the first inning.  The Bears would add a run to their lead, in the second inning. William Dunn would single to left field driving in Karius Joseph, who walked. Braxton Gallet would single up the middle moving Hutchinson over to third. Parker Autry would then double to right field scoring Hutch to take the one-point lead.  In the bottom of the ninth, the Dolphins would create a bit of magic as they would lead off with a double by Jobert. With two outs the Dolphins would score Jobert with a single by J. Alexander to tie the game at five.  The Bears would intentionally walk Feustle to load the bases. Then Mengarelli, who pinch ran for Singletary, would score on a pass ball for the walk off victory. The Dolphins never led in the ball game until the final walk off play.
