5 RBI day for Veillon seals the Bears victory

Bears bats come alive to dominate the LSUA Generals. Baton Rouge would earn a 14-2 run rule victory this afternoon at Brusly High School.

Baton Rouge would open their offensive explosive, in the first, via a solo homer by William Veillon to left field. After one, the Bears led 1-0. Nathan Beyer and Cody Crifasi would lead off the second with back to back singles. Creed David would reach on a fielders choice driving in Beyer. Jake Messina would be next, he would hit a sac fly scoring Crifasi. After two innings, the Bears led 3-0. In the third inning, William Veillon would strike again with a lead off solo homer to left field.  The Bears would add another run, in the inning, to take a 5-0 lead.  LSUA would get on the board with two runs, in the fifth inning. The Bears would respond, in the bottom of the frame, with a three run homer from Freshman Nathan Beyer to right field. After five, the Bears led 8 to 2. In the sixth, the Bears would score six runs to take a commanding 14 to 2 lead. The bears would open the inning by loading the bases, then William Veillon would double to centerfield driving in two runs. Deionte Norris would single to left field driving in another bears run. Next up would be William Dunn who would hit a sac fly driving in another run. To end the Bears scoring in the inning, Nathan Carriere would single up the middle driving in Norris.  The Generals would put some traffic on the base paths, in the seventh inning, but Bears pitcher DeOnte' Dotson would pitch himself out of the jam to secure the 14 to 2 seven inning run rule victory.

 

Cole Harper started on the mound for the Bears and earned the victory. Cole pitched two innings allowing 2 Runs on 5 hits while striking out 5. DeOnte' Dotson, Peter Holden and Braxton Gallet all pitched in relief for the Bears. Gage Colligan earned the loss for the Generals. Gage pitched four innings, allowing 5 runs on 5 hits.

 

Baton Rouge outhit LSUA 11 to 7. LSUA committed two errors in the game.

Cody Crifasi went 1 for 3 with 1 run

Creed David went 1 for 2 with 1 Run and 1 RBI 

Nick Carriere went 1 for 1 with 1 RBI 

Jake Messina went 1 for 3 with 1 Run and 1 RBI

 

Next up for the Bears will be a road trip down I-10 to take on instate rivials the LSUE Bengals at Bengals Field at 6 pm.
