Bears Baseball earns their first win of the season in game one versus Alvin Community College this evening. Final Score was BRCC 15 and Alvin 9. With the game tied at 7,in the seventh, the Bears broke the tie with a Garrett Barrilleaux homerun to centerfield. After Barrilleaux's homerun, the Bears opened the flood gates and scored seven more runs in the seventh inning.
BRCC got on the scoreboard, in the second inning, when Hunter David singled and then was brought home by a Jonah Overland homerun to right field. Alvin Community College added a run in the bottom of the second inning. After two innings the score was BRCC 2 and Alvin 1. Baton Rouge struck again in the third inning, when Samuel Jarrell got on by an error, Seth Daugherty moved Sam over with a bunt for a hit and Sam scored on a Garrett Barrilleaux ground out. After three innings the Bears held a 3 to 1 lead over the Dolphins.
BRCC added two more runs to their lead in the fourth inning. Jonah Overland hit a double and later scored on a Cameron Crawford single to right field. Crawford then scored on a Samuel Jarrell single to left field. Alvin answered back, in the bottom of the inning,with six runs including a Guitierrez homerun. At the end of four innings, Alvin had a 7 to 5 lead over the Bears.
The Bears picked up one run in the fifth off a Hunter David single that scored Tyler Caston. BRCC tied the score at seven, in the sixth, with a double by Keith Meier that scored Crawford.
The Bears broke the game open in the seventh inning. It all started when Garrett Barrilleaux homered to centerfield. BRCC scored a total of 8 runs in the seventh inning off of two Dolphins pitchers. Alvin attempted a comeback in the bottom of the seventh inning but could only get two runs off Bears pitchers' Trevor Benoit and Michael Russell.

Hunter David went 3 for 4 with 2 RBIs and 2 runs
Jonah Overland went 2 for 4 with a homerun and 2 RBIs
Cameron Crawford went 2 for 3 with 3 RBIs
The Bears will face Alvin again in about 30 minutes.
