After taking two games against Southwest Mississippi on Tuesday afternoon in Summit, MS, the two teams met again on Wednesday in Baton Rouge. BRCC lost a twelve inning marathon to SW 7-6. After taking two of three games in the series, Baton Rouge's improved their season record to 16-24.

Devin Bailey started the scoring for BRCC in the third inning. He reached base due to a Southwest throwing error making it all the way to third. Soon there after, Nick Ourso's sacrifice fly to center field scored Bailey and cut the deficit in half. After three innings at Pete Goldsby, BRCC trailed 2-1.

The story of the game was Baton Rouge's inability to get the timely hits. Although the Bears were on the board in the third inning, they left the bases loaded in the third and fourth innings. Overall, BRCC stranded fourteen base runners.

BRCC scored again the fifth cutting the deficit to 5-2. Tyler Laporte scored the run after reaching base on a walk. Later in the inning he would score when John Mauldin ripped a double down the third base line. 

In the sixth inning, BRCC added two more runs. Bailey and Timothy Hamilton led off with back to back singles. The duo would score on a Laporte triple to left center and the Bears had pulled with in one run at 5-4.

Trailing 6-4 in the eighth inning, BRCC would score the tying runs. McKay Mouton and Laporte would each reach base with singles. Mauldin would notch another RBI with a double that scored Mouton. The game would be tied at six after a Layton Laird sacrifice fly scored Laporte. 

Unofrtunately, BRCC went cold at the plate and were held scoreless in the final four innings. Eventually losing in twelve innings after Southwest was able to manufacture a run.
