This week's BRCC Athlete of the Week is freshman guard Kinsley James from Baton Rouge and the Southern University Laboratory School. Kinsley played a crucial role in helping the Lady Bears extend their game against Hinds into two overtime periods. Her clutch corner three-pointer tied the game at the end of regulation, sending it into the first overtime. In that game, Kinsley scored 34 points, recorded 6 rebounds, made 2 assists, had 1 steal, and blocked 2 shots. Unfortunately, the Lady Bears were defeated by the Hinds Lady Bulldogs with a final score of 84-79 after two overtime periods.

On Thursday, January 9, Kinsley again led the Lady Bears in scoring, and this time, the team emerged victorious against the Copiah Lincoln Lady Wolves, winning 76-63. In that game, Kinsley contributed 15 points, along with 1 rebound, 1 assist, and 1 steal.
