Lady Bears and Bears Basketball

This weeks Athlete of the week goes to the Lady Bears and Bears Basketball teams. Both team earned a first round Region 23 victory. The Lady Bears defeated the  Southern Shreveport Lady Jags on Monday March 29 by the final score of 68-49. The Ladies would travel to #2 seeded Coahoma Lady Tigers on Wednesday March 30. They would be defeated by the Lady Tigers 73-50.

The Bears Basketball team would defeat the Co-Lin Wolves on Tuesday March 30 by the final score of 75-59. They  would take on the #2 seed Northeast Tigers on Thursday April 1. The Bears would be defeated by the final score of 69 to 68.

Both teams overcame great odds with the numerous covid test, daily covid forms,temperature checks  covid shutdowns and just living in a world with a global pandemic. It was rough but these student athletes and coaches survived to play a complete 2021 season.
