Northeast Tigers Defeat Baton Rouge Bears in Region 23 Tourney

Baton Rouge ends their 2017-2018 season tonight, at the Region 23 tournament, against Northeast Mississippi.  The Tigers defeated the Bears 75 to 59, in the A.E. Wood Coliseum, on the campus of Mississippi College. The Bears came out very sluggish on both ends of the floor. The closest the Bears would get all night was 9 to 8 Northeast with 16:12 to go in the first half.  The Tigers went on a 13 to 2 run to extend their lead to 22 to 12 with 9:44 left in the half.  The Bears would attempt a run of their own but could only close the gap at halftime to 15 points; Northeast 37 and Bears 22. In the second half, the Bears played a bit better on defense but was still outscored 38 to 37.   The Bears shot 35 % from the floor compared to 49 % for the Tigers.  Baton Rouge also struggled again from the free throw line, making 13 of 20, while Northeast was a perfect 12 for 12 from the line. 

Baton Rouge finishes the season with a 12-12 record.

Makye Richard scored 10 points with 6 Rebounds, 3 Assist and 1 Steal.

Terrance Dodson scored 11 points with 4 Rebounds

Kaedrick Williams added 10 points and 5 Rebounds
