Lady Bengals too much for Lady Bears in Conference Match-up

Lady Bengals too much for Lady Bears in Conference Match-up

Saturday February 10, 2018: Lady Bears Basketball

Baton Rouge, La

Similar to when these two teams meant up in Eunice, the Lady Bengals came out with an aggressive defensive press that the Lady Bears could not figure out.  LSUE disrupted Baton Rouge's general game plan and the Lady Bears seemed out of whack on both ends of the floor in the first half.  LSUE opened the game on a 18 to 4 run and ended the first quarter with a score of LSUE 24 and BRCC 14. In the second quarter, BRCC started to break LSUE's press but unforced turnovers and missed opportunities led to the Lady Bears being down 45 to 29 at the half. In the second half, the Lady Bears came out and fought back.  They outscored LSUE in the second half 35 to 31. Baton Rouge would close the gap to within ten points with 6:33 to play in the fourth quarter but that was, as close as, the bears would get.  Final Score was LSUE 64 and BRCC 76.

LSUE improves to a record of  20-2 and 5-0 in conference while BRCC falls to 7-13 and 2-2 in conference.

Lady Bears Highlights:

Celica Sterling scored 13 points,with 2 assits, 2 steals 7 rebounds

Kayla Watson, despite being in foul trouble for most of the game, had  16 points,  2 assist, 2 steals and 3 rebounds
