November 14, 2017: Women's Basketball

The Lady Bears could not overcome a slow start and a stingy first half defense by Co-Lin, on the second day of the SW Mississippi Coca-Cola Classic.  Lady Bears (0-5) lose to Co-Lin (5-0) 67 to 46. Baton Rouge was not able to slow down the Co-Lin shooters, epecially from the 3 point line.  Co-Lin shot 51 % from the field, which included 43% from the 3 point line.  The Lady Bears did gain the edge on the boards, outrebounding Co-Lin, and forced 22 Co-lin turnovers during the game, which kept Co-Lin a bit off of their game plan.

Lady Bears Highlights:

Rosa Reynard led the Lady Bears in scoring for the second straight game with 13 points.

Rosa Reynard also led the team with 3 assist.  

Kayla Watson had 5 pts, 5 rebounds and 5 steals

Faith Williams had 9 points, 5 rebounds and 3 steals

Mariah Jones had 9 points, 2 assists, and 2 rebounds

The Lady Bears will be back in action on Monday November 20, 2017 as they travel to compete in the Mississippi Delta Classic. Game time is 2 pm vs Northwest Mississippi.
