BRCC defeated Holmes Community College on Monday night for their second win of the season. The Lady Bears had dropped five straight before the 69-60 victory over the Lady Bulldogs.

BRCC outscored Holmes 18-9 in the first quarter and never looked back. Baton Rouge extended the lead after each quarter, heading into the final ten minutes with a twelve point lead. 

Holmes did not go away quietly, cutting their deficit to four points on more than one occasion. However, Baton Rouge made enough plays down the stretch to hang on for the win. BRCC is 2-6 on the season. Next up for the Lady Bears is a trip to Mississippi Gulf Coast on Thursday, December 1. BRCC looks to avenge a 63-61 loss to MGCCC that took place in the Lady Bear Classic.

• Pearl Jones records another double-double. She led the team in scoring and rebounds with 16 and 12 respectively. 
• E'Layzha Bates scored 8 points and pulled down 9 rebounds (six offensive).
• Amari Banks finished the night with 5 points, 4 assists, 4 rebounds and 2 steals.
• BRCC forced Holmes into 22 turnovers, but was outrebounded on the night 41-35.
• Ayliah Cooper, Rhomyia Tate and Oterica Witherspoon each reached double-figures with 12 points in the win.
