Baton Rouge Community College lost their season opener against Bossier Parish on Tuesday evening. After falling behind fourteen points at halftime, the Lady Bears used a 10-0 run to start the third quarter to get back into the game. BRCC was able to send the game into overtime, but eventually ran out of gas. The game ended 77-66.

Bear Notes:

• Oterica Witherspoon led the Lady Bears in scoring with 20 points. She also grabbed 7 rebounds.
• Rhomyia Tate (13) and Amari Banks (10) each reached double figures.
• E'Layzha Bates pulled down eight rebounds (four offensive).
• Pearl Jones had seven rebounds, but found herself in foul trouble early in the game. 
• BRCC made 13 of 22 from the free throw line, 59%.
• Lady Bears committed 15 turnovers.

BRCC is back in action this weekend hosting the annual Lady Bear Classic. BRCC will play Friday night against Bishop State at 7:30 pm; followed by a game Saturday at 1:00 pm versus Region 23 foe, Mississippi Gulf Coast.
