Tammy Vermeulen starts her second stint, as an assistant coach, for the Lady Bears softball team. Tammy started her collegiate softball  career at  Louisiana State University from 2011-2013.  She played for Head Coach Beth Torina.  While at LSU, Tammy was part of the 2012 Women's College World Series team.  Tammy continued her softball career at Dowling College from 2013-2015.  She had a career 420 batting average. While, at Dowling she led the conference in stolen bases and was named to the 1st team all conference.  Tammy was named to the All Conference team three times in her playing career.

When her playing career at Dowling ended, she became their assistant coach.  Tammy primarily worked with the outfielders, slappers and base runners.  In 2016, Tammy returned to Louisiana to help coach at BRCC.  She primarily worked with the slappers and the outfielders.  Tammy stepped away from the game in 2018 to start her own business.  Now Tammy is back at BRCC as the assistant softball coach.
