The Lafayette native was a high school star at Bethany Christian School, where he was a five-time All District player and three-time first team All-State hitter. He was a career .571 hitter with 16 home runs and was a member of the 2006 LBCA All Star team.

He was 6-0 as a freshman with seven starts, and finished 4-2 in a team-leading 17 relief appearances during the World Series run.

Bailey played a season at Southeastern Louisiana before completing his career -- and receiving his degree – as a Ragin’ Cajun at UL-Lafayette under coach Tony Robichaux. Josh’s final season and career ended with an elbow injury.

Josh and his wife of three years, Kristina, live in Baton Rouge and are involved at Bethany Church.
