Eunice, La: Women's Basketball 

The Baton Rouge Lady Bears traveled down I-10 today to the Cajun Prairie to take on the LSUE Lady Bengals, in the last game of the 2023-2024 regular season.

The first quarter was sloppy and low scoring for both teams. Neither team could find consistency on the offensive end of the floor. After the game was tied at three with 5:46 remaining, the Lady Bengals would open up an eight point lead; 15 to 7 with 56.6 seconds remaining.  The Lady Bengals would outscore the Lady Bears 17 to 11 in the quarter. Twelve of the Lady Bengals seventeen first quarter points came from the free throw line.

The Lady Bears would pull within four; 21 to 17 when Vandryua Wilson would connect on a corner three with 6:47 remaining.  The Lady Bengals would outscore the Lady Bears 12 to 11,in the quarter, to take a seven point lead into halftime; 29 to 27.

In the third quarter, the Lady Bears opened with an  8 to 6 run to pull within three points; 35-32 with 6:05 remaining in the quarter. The Lady Bengals would outscore the Lady Bears 26 to 25 in the quarter to take eight point advantage into the fourth quarter; 55 to 47.

In the fourth quarter, the Lady Bears would continue to fight and scratch and pull within three points with 2:28 remaining but the Lady Bengals would close out the game on a 6 to 4 run to seal the 67 to 62 LCCAC victory.

This was the last game for the 2023-2024 Lady Bears  Basketball team. They finish the season with a record of  5-18 and 4-5 in LCCAC play.
