The Baton Rouge Lady Bears played their final regular season home game, in the Bears Den, against the Southern Shreveport Lady Jags this afternoon. Baton Rouge Lady Bears could not overcome the fast start by the Southern Shreveport Lady Jags as they fell  75 to 54, in this afternoon LCCAC game.  

The  Lady Bears struggled on the offensive end in the first quarter. The Lady Jags would open the game on a 11-0 run. The Lady Bears would score their first point of the game when J'nyria Kelly would hit one of two free throws with 5:32 remaining in the quarter.  The Lady Jags would outscore the Lady Bears 23 to 8 in the first quarter.

In the second quarter the Lady Bears would find a bit of rthymn on the offensive end but trailed Southern Shreveport 38 to 21 at the half. 

Southern Shreveport would outscore Baton Rouge 23 to 16 in the third quarter to increase their lead to twenty four points; 61-37.

Baton Rouge would outscore Southern Shreveport 17 to 14 in the fourth quarter but it was not enough as the Lady Jags would defeat the Lady Bears 75 to 54

Olivia Davis led the Lady Bears with 19 points.  A. Foster led the Lady Jags with 19 points. The Lady Jags had four student athletes score in double figures.

Lady Bears Highlights:

Olivia Davis led the Lady Bears with 19 points.

Temirical Peters added 9 points.

J'Nyria Kelly scored 8 points.

With the loss the Lady Bears fell to 5-17, 4-4 while Southern Shreveport improved to 9-8, 5-2 on the season 

The Lady Bears will conclude the 2023-2024 season on the road at LSUE on Wednesday February 28,2024 at 5:30 pm in the HPRE Center.
