Tuesday March 12, 2019: Women's Basketball
The 2018-2019 Louisiana Community College Athletic Conference Awards were announced and two Lady Bears made the list. Kayla Watson, sophomore guard from Amite, Louisiana and Desrael Schnyder, freshman forward from Pontchatoula, Louisiana were both named to the First Team All Conference.
Kayla Watson, Southern University signee, averaged 17.7 points and 8 rebounds, in nine conference games. Kayla racked up 72 rebounds, 28 assists, 44 steals and 13 blocks in those nine games. For the season, Kayla averaged 17. 5 points with 6.6 rebounds per game.
Desrael Schnyder averaged 14.7 points and 4. 3 rebounds, in nine conference games. Overall for the season, Des averaged 4.7 rebounds and 12.3 ppg.
The Lady Bears finished the LCCAC with a record of 6-3, just behind LSUE with a 9-0 record.
