Baton Rouge, LA

Baton Rouge Lady Bears fall tonight, in their LCCAC conference opener, to the LSUE Lady Bengals by the final score of 84 to 75.

The first quarter was a bit sloppy for both teams.  It was like a heavy weight fight with both teams trying to feel the other out, with no one taking full control of the game. At the end of the first quarter, the game was tied at 18.

In the second quarter, the Lady Bears figured some things out on the offensive end and went on a  14 to 3 run to open up an 11 point lead at 32-21 with five minutes remaining.  The Lady Bengals then turned the tables with a 23-10 run of their own to end the quarter with a two point halftime lead, 44-42.

In the second half, the Lady Bears struggled to get into their offensive flow, and was unable to secure the rebound leading to second chance points for the Lady Bengals. The Lady Bears would come within two points but  it was not enough as they fall tonight by the final score of 84 to 75.

Baton Rouge shot 45 % from the free throw line (11 for 24) , while LSUE shot 66 % (31 for 47)

Baton Rouge was led in scoring by Desrael Schnyder  and AH' Million Cosby with 14 points, while LSUE was led by  Claralee Richard with 17 points.
