Goodman, MS

The Lady Bears traveled to Goodman,Mississippi tonight to take on region 23 opponent Holmes Community College. Holmes Community College beat Baton Rouge 55 to 47.  The Lady Bears came out slow on the offensive side of the floor scoring only 9 points in the first quarter. At halftime, the Lady Bulldogs, of Holmes, led the Lady Bears 30-19.  Coach Lee's young team did not give up and cut the led to only two in the second half but was unable to keep the momentum. The Lady Bears were led in scoring by Sophomore guard Celica Sterling.  She has 19 points on 8 for 13 shooting, with 10 rebounds and 3 steals.  Holmes outshot the Lady Bears from the floor 49% to 30%. The Lady Bulldogs also out rebounded the Lady Bears 43 to 37.  Holmes Community College improved to  2-1 on the year while  Baton Rouge falls to 0-3. 

The Lady Bears will be back in action on Monday November 13, 2017 at the Southwest Mississippi Classic, in which they will play the host Southwest at 5:30 pm
