Lady Bears Bounce Back After Slow Start, Win at Delgado

BRCC overcame a slow start to defeat Delgado Community College 48-46 on Wednesday night in New Orleans. The victory improves the Lady Bears conference record to 5-3, with one game remaining on Saturday against Southern-Shreveport. 

Sophomore Pearl Jones continues to lead Baton Rouge during conference play. Jones finished the night with 14 points and 17 rebounds keeping pace with her season totals. With one game to play, she is on the cusp of averaging a double-double for the entire season. 

Oterica Witherspoon finished with ten points (6-7 from the free throw line), five assists and three steals.

Amari Banks grabbed nine rebounds and four steals; she also scored five points. 

Rhomyia Tate scored ten points in the win.

BRCC travels to Southern-Shreveport to finish their season on Saturday afternoon. Tip-off is set for 2:00 pm and will be followed by the men's teams final regular season game.
