Southern-Shreveport too much for Lady Bears

BRCC dropped their second consecutive conference game on Saturday against Southern-Shreveport by the score of 66-37. The Lady Bears trailed by eleven points at the half, but would not make a game of it in the second frame. SUSLA would extend the lead to nearly twenty points by the end of the third quarter and the outcome was a mere formality by that point.

The loss capped off a rough week for BRCC. After opening conference play with a dominating performance of LSU-Eunice, Baton Rouge went on the road and lost to Delgado before losing to SUSLA on Saturday.

Instead of finding themselves in the driver seat of conference play, BRCC is now 1-2 and have a big hole to climb out of over the next few weeks. Lady Bears travel to LSU-Eunice on Wednesday to face the Bengals for the second time. Game time is set for 6:00 pm.

Bear Notes:

  • Pearl Jones finished the game with 13 points and 13 rebounds.
  • Alyiah Cooper had seven rebounds for Baton Rouge.
  • Lady Bears committed 23 turnovers; SUSLA had 12.
  • BRCC was outrebounded 53-37 in the loss, giving up 27 offensive rebounds.
