BRCC opened conference play on Saturday afternoon by hosting LSU-Eunice. The Lady Bears defeated the Bengals 82-50.
Early in the first quarter, BRCC found themselves down 10-4 to the hot-shooting visitors. The Lady Bears used a 15-0 run to set the tone for the rest of the half, outscoring LSU-Eunice 34-13 the final fifteen minutes of the first half.
The second half was much of the same. BRCC shooting lay-ups and extending their lead to nearly forty points near teh end of the game.
After today's win, BRCC is 1-0 in conference play. Next up for Baton Rouge is a trip to Delgado on Wednesday night to face the Dolphins. Game time is set for 5:00 pm.
Bear Notes:
- Pearl Jones paced the Lady Bears with 21 points and four rebounds.
- Amari Banks scored 16 points in the win and recorded 5 steals.
- Mikayla Crockett added 14 points, including two three-pointers; Crockett had three steals and three assists. She also grabbed 10 rebounds.
- Rhomyia Tate scored ten points, also reaching double-figures; Tate added five assists and four steals.
- Oterica Witherspoon and Ayliah Cooper both contributed 9 points.
