Baton Rouge Community College traveled to Shreveport on Saturday for a conference showdown. The Lady Bears came home with a hard fought 97-88 overtime victory and sole possession of first place in conference play.
Bear Notes:
- Pearl Jones led all scorers with 22 points. Jones grabbed 11 rebounds.
- Five Lady Bears reached double digits in the victory: Doneisha Young 21; Celica Sterling 17; Amber Smith 14; Terriel Ross 12.
- Ariane Addison pulled down eight rebounds.
- BRCC was outrebounded by Shreveport, 42-34 (25-16 offensive).
- Both teams committed twenty turnovers.
- BRCC scored 19 points in the five minute overtime sesstion.
- All eight Lady Bears that played scored in the game.
BRCC will travel to LSU-Eunice on Wednesday for the rubber match against the Lady Bengals. After losing their conference opener against Eunice on Wednesday, Janaury 27th, Baton Rouge has won five straight games and sit atop the conference with a 5-1 record.
