Baton Rouge Community College started the second half with a flurry. After taking a nine point lead into the break, the Lady Bears held SUSLA to six points during the third quarter while the Lady Bears scored twenty-six. The fourth quarter was spent controlling the game and ended with BRCC coasting their way to a 76-49 victory.
Bear Notes:
- Amber Smith led the Lady Bears with 21 points, going 8/9 from the free throw line. Smith also pulled down eight rebounds.
- Shelby Dixon scored 9 points
- Alyssa McKneely added eight points.
- Pearl Jones grabbed 10 rebounds; Terriel Ross 8; and Celica Sterling recorded seven boards.
- BRCC outrebounded SUSLA 53-17.
- Lady Bears forced 30 turnovers.
Baton Rouge finds themselves 2-1 in conference play with LSU-Eunice coming to Mid-City on Saturday afternoon. Coach Lee's squad will try and avenge a loss to the Lady Bengals from January 27th; BRCC lost 72-68 in their first meeting.
