Baton Rouge traveled to Gulf Coast State College this week for two final games before winter break. BRCC lost to the host, Gulf Coast State (#3) on Wednesday evening by a score of 90-38.
The Lady Bears bounced back on Thursday afternoon to defeat Darton College (GA) 70-59. Baton Rouge faced a halftime deficit, but took control of the game in the fourth quarter, outscoring Darton 29-12 in the final frame. With the victory, BRCC finished the fall semester with a 6-7 record.
Bear Notes:
- Amber Smith reached double figures in both games. Scoring 11 points in the loss vs Gulf Coast State College. She led the team in scoring against Darton College with 24 points.
- Celica Sterling also contributed 12 points in the loss and 11 points in the victory.
- Terriel Ross added 10 points in the victory over Darton.
