Baton Rouge Community College Lady Bears found their winning way on Thursday night versus Northeast Mississippi Community College, defeating the Lady Tigers 78-66. The win ends a four game skid for Baton Rouge and avenges an early season loss while playing in Northeast Mississippi's Classic last week. The win brings their overall record to 2-5.
Baton Rouge led throughout after a 19 point, first half effort from sophomore guard Lanae Bickham. The Lady Bears took a 40-29 lead into the half that they would not relinquish.
Bickham finished the night with 25 points leading the way for Baton Rouge. Terriel Ross added 18 points, off 6 of 11 shooting. Anitara Whitfield was the third Lady Bear in double-figures with 12 points. Octavia Lawdins contributed seven points in the win, but dominated the glass by grabbing eighteen rebounds.
Next up for Baton Rouge is a trip to Bossier City, LA to face Bossier Parrish Community College. The game is Saturday, November 15th; the tip is set for 2:00 pm.
