Bears lose to East Central Lady Warriors

The Baton Rouge Bears and the East Central Lady Warriors met on the diamond this afternoon to complete a three game home and home series. It was a low scoring affair with the Lady Warriors getting just enough offense to defeat the Bears 3-0.

Neither team could get things going on the offensive end for the first three innings. East Central would get on the board first with a run in the fourth inning. The Lady Warriors would add two runs to their lead, in the sixth inning, to secure the 3-0 victory over the Bears.

Ashton Duhon started in the circle for the Bears. Duhon pitched 2.1 innings allowing 0 runs on 3 hits. Jennifer Fontenot was credited with the loss for the Bears. She pitched 2.2 innings allowing 2 runs on 3 hits while walking two. Bailey Smith pitched in relief for the Bears. Janci Aube started in the circle for the Lady Warriors and earned the victory.  She pitched seven innings allowing 0 runs on 2 hits while walking 3 and striking out 5.

East Central outhit Baton Rouge 8 to 2. East Central committed one error in the ball game.

Bears Game Highlights:

Desi Robinson went 1 for 3.

Aubrie Shaw had 2 BB.

Mary Wicke went 1 for 2 with 1 BB and 1 triple.

 

With the loss the Bears fall to 13-16 while East Central improved to 15-4 on the season.

The Bears will close out the day with a game against the Northwest Shoal Community College Patriots at 3 pm.
