Lady Bears drop a pair of games to Bossier Parish

The Baton Rouge Lady Bears traveled to Bossier City to take on the Bossier Parish Lady Cavs, this afternoon. The Lady Cavs would sweep the day winning game one 8-0, in five innings and they would comeback to win game two 4-2 over the Lady Bears.

Game One

The Bossier Parish Lady Cavs would get on the board first with four runs, in the first inning. Three of their four runs came off the bat of K Cox via a three-run homer to left field. The Lady Cavs would add a run to their lead, in the third inning, to take a 5-0 lead over the Lady Bears. Bossier would tact on two more runs to their lead, in the fourth inning;7-0. K. Cox would hit her second homer of the game, in the fifth inning, thus ending the game with Bossier winning 8-0, in a five-inning run rule.

Marley Olivier started in the circle for the Lady Bears and took the loss. Marley pitched two innings allowing 5 runs on 5 hits while striking out 2. Sophia Tanner pitched two inning in relief for the Lady Bears. Primrose Aholelei started on the mound for the Lady Cavs and earned the victory. She pitched five innings allowing 0 runs on 1 hits while striking out 11.

Bossier Parish outhit Baton Rouge 8 to 1. Baton Rouge committed one error in the ballgame.

Game One Lady Bears Highlights 

Adelyn Fisher went 1 for 2.

 

Game Two

The Lady Bears watched an early lead disappear as the Bossier Parish Lady Cavs would rally to take the lead, in the fourth inning, in which they would not relinquish. The Lady Cavs win game two 4-2.

The Lady Bears would get on the board first via a two-run homer by Alara Taylor to left field. After one inning, the Lady Bears led 2-0. Kelsie B Etheridge kept the Lady Cavs off balanced at the plate for three plus innings. Bossier Parish would tie the game and take the lead via a three-run homer by D Sanjay to left field, in the fourth inning. After four innings, the Lady Cavs led 3-2. The Lady Cavs would add an insurance run, in the fifth inning, to take a 4-2 lead. P. Aholelei would pitch three scoreless innings for the Lady Bears in relief to help them secure the 4-2 game two victory over the Lady Bears.

Kelsie B Etheridge started in the circle for the Lady Bears and took the loss. KB pitched six innings allowing 4 runs on 8 hits while striking out 1.A. Napalapalai started for the Lady Cavs and earned the victory. She pitched four innings allowing 2 runs on 2 hits while striking out 4. P. Aholelei pitched three innings of shutout softball for the Lady Cavs to preserve the victory.

Bossier Parish outhit Baton Rouge 8 to 2. Baton Rouge committed two errors in the ballgame.

Game Two Lady Bears Highlights:

Alara Taylor went 2 for 3 with 1 run, 2 RBIs and 1HR

 

With the sweep Bossier Parish improves to 29-9, while Baton Rouge falls to 18-24 on the season.

 

The Lady Bears will take a break for the Easter Holiday then they return to action on Thursday April 21, 2022, as they host the Jones College Lady Bobcats at Traction in a doubleheader starting at 1 pm
