Lady Bears swept by Co-Lin Lady Wolves

The Baton Rouge Lady Bears traveled to Wesson, Mississippi, this afternoon, to take on the Copiah Lincoln Lady Wolves. Baton Rouge struggled at the plate while Co-Lin was hitting on all cylinders as they sweep the Lady Bears. The Lady Wolves win game one 8-0 and game two 11-0, both in five inning run rule.

Game one:

The Baton Rouge Lady Bears could not contain the high-powered offense of the Co-Lin Lady Wolves, as the Wolves would defeat the Lady Bears 8-0, in a five-inning mercy rule.

Co-Lin would get on the board first with a three-run homer, in the second inning, to take the early lead.  The Wolves would add four more runs, in the third, and an extra run, in the fourth, to seal the 8-0 run rule victory. The Lady Bears had their chances but couldn't find that timely hit to score.

Cera Blanchard earned the victory for Co-Lin. She pitched four innings allowing 0 runs on 3 hits while striking out 6. Kristyn Lormand earned the loss for the Lady Bears. Kristyn pitched four innings, allowing 8 runs on 8 hits while striking out 1.

Co-Lin out hit Baton Rouge 8 to 3. Baton Rouge committed 2 errors compared to 1 for Co-Lin.

Montana Smith went 1 for 1

 

Game Two:

Similar to game one, the Lady Bears struggled at the plate while the Lady Wolves remained hot at the plate scoring 11 run to earn the 11 to 0 five inning run rule victory.

Co-Lin would get on the board first with a run in the second. The Lady Wolves would tact on another run, in the third inning, before they would erupt for 9 runs, in the fourth, to seal the victory. 

Co-Lin outhit Baton Rouge 9 to 2. Baton Rouge committed 3 error in the game.

Belle West earned the victory for the Lady Wolves. She pitched four innings allowing 0 runs on 2 hits while striking out 5. Sophia Tanner took the loss for the Lady Bears. Sophia pitched three innings allowing 5 runs on 6 hits while striking out 2. Aleigha Fussell pitched in relief for the Lady Bears.

 

Game Two Lady Bears Highlights:

Morgan Alleman went 1 for 2

Ryen Lawrence went 1 for 1 with 1BB

 

With the pair of victories Co-Lin improves to 2-0, while Baton Rouge falls to 0-6 on the season.

The Lady Bears will return to action this Tuesday February 15 they travel to Summit, Mississippi to take on the Southwest Mississippi Lady Bears in a doubleheader starting at 3 pm.
