The Lady Bears could not find a way to stop the high powered offense of the #5 ranked  Co-Lin Lady Wolves as they drop a pair of games. Lady Bears lose game one 9 to 1 in five innings and game two 12 to 4 in five innings.

Game One : 

Co-Lin Lady Wolves would get on the board first with a two run homer by C Brabham, in the first inning, to take the early advantage. The Lady Bears struggled all game to get that timely hit to score a runner. The Lady Wolves would tact on three more runs in the second to take a 5 to 0 lead. CoLin would add to their lead with four runs in the third inning; 9 to 0. The Lady Bears would finally get on the board in the fourth inning when Montana Smith would double to left field and would be driven in by an infield single by Frashaylon Angelle. This would be the lone Lady Bears run of the game.  The Lady Bears would lose game one 9 to 1 in a five inning run rule.

Cera Blachard would earn the victory for the Lady Wolves.  She pitched three and a third innings allowing 0 runs on 0 hits while striking out 3. Kelsie Bell Etheridge took the loss for the Lady Bears. KB pitched 2 innings allowing 9 runs on 7 hits while walking 1 and striking out 1. Josi Broussard pitched 2 innings in relief for the Lady Bears. Jodi allowed 0 runs on 1 hit.

Co-Lin out hit Baton Rouge 8 to 3.  Both teams committed 2 errors in the game.

Lady Bears Game 1 Highlights:

Kaitley Fisher went 1 for 3

Montana Smith went 1 fo for 2 with 1 run

Frashaylon Angelle went 1 for 2 with 1 RBI

Game Two:

The Lady Bears would get on the board early but a ten run fifth inning by the Lady Wolves propelled them to a 12 to 4 game two victory.

The Lady Bears would get on the board first via a two run homer to left field by Montana Smith to grab the early lead. The Lady Wolves would tie the game in the bottom of the first  with a two run homer by C Brabham.  Baton Rouge would retake the lead in the second when Claire Blanchard would lead off with a double and be driven in when Saylor Young would reach on an error.  After two innings, the Lady Bears led 3 to 2. The Lady Bears would add a run to their lead in the fifth inning when Montana Smith would tag up and score on a Claire Blanchard fly out to right field.  The Lady Wolves would tie the game in the fifth with a two run homer by C Brabham.  The Lady Wolves would continue their hot hitting streak and score 8 more runs in the inning to secure the 12 to 4 fifth inning run rule victory.

Bella Luckey earned the victory for the Lady Wolves. She pitched five innings, allowing 4 runs off of 5 hits while striking out three. Saylor Young earned the loss for the Lady Bears. Saylor pitched four innings allowing five runs on 7 hits while striking out 1.

Co-Lib our hit Baton Rouge 11 to 5. Co-Lin was credited for 2 errors while Baton Rouge had 1 in the ball game.

Lady Bears Highlights:

Alyson Pourciau went 1 for 3 with 1 run

Montana Smith went 2 for 3 with 2 Runs, 2 RBIs, and 1 HR

Claire Blanchard went 1 for 3 with 1 Run and 1 RBI

With the days victories Co-Lin improves to 3-1 while the Lady Bears fall to 3-6 on the season.

The Lady Bears will return to action this Saturday Feb 27 as they travel to Summit, Mississippi to take on Southwest in a doubleheader starting at 1 pm.
