Bossier Parish  Lady Cavs shutout the  Lady Bears

The Lady Bears traveled to Bossier City to begin the two day Bossier Parish Round Robin tournament. The Lady Bears' first opponent was the host school, the Bossier Parish Lady Cavs. It was an early morning contest with the Lady Cavs. The Baton Rouge Lady Bears could not get their bats going and they couldn't contain the high powered offense of the Lady Cavs. They would be shutout 7 to 0.

Bossier Parish would get on the board with a run in the first inning. They would score their second run of the game, in the fourth inning, via a homerun by H Pence. After four innings, the Lady Cavs led 2-0. The Lady Bears were getting runners on base but they struggled to get the timely hits to score those runners. The Lady Cavs would break the game open, in the fifth inning, with four runs to take a commanding 6-0 lead after five. Bossier would tact on another run in the sixth to complete their 7-0 shut out victory over Baton Rouge.


Bossier Parish outhit Baton Rouge 7 to 4. The Lady Bears committed two errors in the game.


Marry Smith earned the victory for Bossier Parish. She pitched a complete game, allowing zero runs on four hits while striking out nine. Leanne Lain earned the loss for Baton Rouge. Leanne pitched six innings , allowing seven runs on seven hits while striking out two.

Kaitley Fisher went 1 for 2 with 1 BB
Sydnee Davis went 1 for 4
Krystal Stubbs went 1 for 2
Jodi Broussard went 1 for 2

With the loss the Lady Bears fall to 4-11 on the season.

The Lady Bears will be back in action this afternoon at 1 pm as they conclude day one of the BPCC tournament with a match up with the Southern Arkansas University Tech Rockets.
