The Baton Rouge Lady Bears would start day two of the JUCO classic versus the East Mississippi Lady Lions. The Lady Bears would lose the lead late to the Lady Lions and fall 13 to 3. The Lady Lions exploded for 12 runs over the last two innings to earn the run rule victory.

East Mississippi Lady Lions would get on the board first with a run, in the first inning. The Baton Rouge Lady Bears struggled to get their offense on track till the third inning when they would score two runs to take a 2 to 1 lead.  Frashaylon Angelle would lead off the inning with a walk. Jodi Broussard would follow with a single to left field. Sophomore Mackenzie Hebert would lay down a beautiful sac bunt scoring Angelle for the Lady Bears' first run of the game. Sydnee Davis would ground out to the second basemen, but Broussard would score giving the Lady Bears the lead. The lead was short lived as the Lady Lions would lead off the fourth inning with a homerun to left field by A. Brown to tie the game at two. The Lady Lions would score a total of five runs, in the fourth inning, to take a 6 to 2 lead over the Lady Bears.  The Lady Lions hot hitting would continue, in the fifth inning, when they would plate seven runners.  East Mississippi would extend their lead to 13 to 2. The Lady Bears continued to fight till the end as Frashaylon Angelle would lead off, the fifth inning, with a solo homerun to left field.  It was not enough as the Lady Bears would fall to the Lady Lions 13 to 3 in  five innings.

Leanne Lain took the loss for the Lady Bears. Leanne pitched three innings allowing six runs on five hits, while striking out four. Britney Bonney earned the victory for the Lady Lions. She pitched four innings, allowing two runs on one hit while striking out four.

Lady Bears Highlights.

Sydnee Davis went 1 for 3 with 1 RBI

Frashaylon Angelle went 1 for 1 with 2 runs,1 RBI and 1BB

Jodi Broussard went 1 for 1 with 1 run

With the loss the Lady Bears fall to 3-8 on the season.

The Lady Bears will conclude the JUCO classic on Saturday February 29 with an 11 am match up with the East Mississippi Lady Lions and a 1 pm match up with the Meridian Lady Eagles.
