Lady Bears get a victory at Sun Chief Classic

The Lady Bears pick up their first win of the Sun Chief Classic, with a 3 to 2 extra inning victory over Coastal Alabama- East.  Final Score was Baton Rouge 3 and Coastal Alabama East 2. The Lady Bears got on the board first,in the third inning, scoring two runs. Blayne Pence singled to right field, Sydnee McCall reached on an error and Sara Tate singled to load the bases with Bears. Shelby McDonald doubled to plate Pence and McCall. After three inning, the Lady Bears held a 2-0 lead over Coastal Alabama East.  Coastal Alabama would get on the board,in the fourth, with a homerun by T. Austin. Coastal would add another run, in the fifth inning, on a double by Morgan that scored Fisher.  After five innings, the game was tied at four a piece. Neither team could push across runs in the sixth or seventh inning. In the top of the Eighth inning, Sara Tate was put on second and she scored when Liz Davis reached on an error by the shortstop. In the bottom of the inning, Coastal would pop up, walk, ground out and pop up to Sara Tate to end the game.  Lady Bears win 3 to 2 in eight innings. 

Sydnee McCall pitched seven and a third innings allowing 2 Runs on 4 hits and striking out 3.

Lady Bears Highlights:

Blayne Pence went 2 for 4 with 1 Run

Sara Tate went 1 for 4 with 1 Run

Shelby McDonald went 1 for 4 with 2 RBIs
