Gulf Coast State shuts out Baton Rouge

 Baton Rouge would give up an early first inning homerun to the Gulf State Commodores and that was all they would need this evening, to defeat the Lady Bears 10 to 0 in five innings.  The Lady Bears could only mustard one hit off  Commodore's pitcher Amie Hutchison.  Hutchison would pitch four innings allowing no runs on 1 hit and striking out five.  Gulf State scored one run in the first inning when Raines hit a homerun to centerfield off Lady Bears pitcher Sydnee McCall.  BRCC would get their only hit of the game when Blayne Pence singled in her first at bat of the game to centerfield.

Gulf State would add four more runs in the second and another four runs in the third inning to take a 9 to 0 advantage over the Lady Bears. The Commodores would tact on another run in the fifth inning to take a 10 to 0 lead over the Bears.  In the bottom of the fifth inning, the Lady Bears would  go down in order thus Gulf State gets the 10 to 0  run rule win.

Sydnee McCall would get the loss for the Lady Bears.  She pitched 2 innings giving up 5 runs on 6 hits.  Renee Firmin would pitch three innings of relief for the Lady Bears giving up 5 runs on 6 hits and striking out 1.

Blayne Pence had the only hit for the Lady Bears.  She went 1 for 2
