Pearl River Tournament

Mississippi Gulf Coast pitcher Bryant had the Lady Bears number this morning in the opening game of the Pearl River Tournament.  Lady Bulldog's pitcher Bryant pitched seven innings giving up one hit, two runs and striking out 8 Lady Bears. The only hit the Lady Bears would get was off the bat of Cori Breaux, who came in the game to pinch hit, in the seventh inning and hit a two run homerun.

Mississippi Gulf Coast started the scoring in the bottom of the first inning when Triplett singled and then eventually scored on a Williams hit by pitch.  Wall then hit a sacrifice to score Hill.  After one inning the Lady Bulldogs held a 2 to 0 lead over the Lady Bears.  In the bottom of the third inning, Mississippi Gulf Coast added to their lead on a Sanders homerun.  After three complete, Mississippi Gulf Coast 3, Lady Bears 0.  The Lady Bulldogs would add three more runs in the six inning to take a 6 to 0 lead heading into the seventh inning.

In the seventh inning, the Lady Bears would get on the board when Darien Phillips was hit by a pitch and replaced by  runner Sydnee Davis.  Cori Breaux came in to pinch hit and hit a two run homerun over the left field wall.  That would be all the scoring BRCC could mustard.  Lady Bears fall 6 to 2 to the Lady Bulldogs.

Bryant got the win for the Lady Bulldogs, while Shelby Breaux got the loss for the Lady Bears.  Shelby pitched 6 innings, giving up 6 runs on 8 hits, walked 3 and struck out 2.
